In 2013, we introduced our first power engineering program –Fast Track 4th Class Power Engineer. This program fast tracks students with international engineering credentials and other technical backgrounds into the Alberta oil and power engineering fields. Following our 100% success rate with the 4th class program and upon the request of industry, we created a 5th Class Power Engineering (Building Operator) program to begin in 2015. This program addresses the shortage of building operators in Alberta. Throughout the development, recruiting, and training process, our industry partners work with us to ensure our students are prepared for every aspect of their careers.
Our commitment and passion to our work is twofold. One, we commit to deliver to our Oil and Gas partners the best possible candidates - those who are dedicated to working hard, working safe and doing so in an environmentally aware manner. Our graduates come through our program well trained and well informed about the energy sector, and we are passionate about this commitment to industry.
Two – we commit to give our best to our students. Preparing new Canadians to enter this career path and supporting them as they begin building their future in Canada is why we started the Oil and Gas Training Programs, and we are passionate about this commitment to our students.
The success of our graduates matters to us, this is why we have partnered with ENFORM, SAIT, and other industry leaders; these organizations help us to prepare the right workforce to fit Alberta and Canada’s needs. The effectiveness of our unique recruitment and training approach can be seen through the endorsements of both the Canadian Association of Geophysical Contractors (CAGC) and the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC).
Since 2001 the CCIS OGTP has been recruiting New Canadians for entry level positions in the oil and gas sector, and offering industry unique training programs for the gas, oil, and energy industry.
CCIS's OGTP was established in 2001 and is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We offer a variety of specialized programs with one mission - to train New Canadians to be able to work in the Canadian oil fields. Through our training we help build better lives for our students. Our mission began with the Drilling training program, followed in 2005 with our Service Rig training program, and in 2008 by our Seismic training program.
To provide our students with the connections, skills, and training needed to excel in their new careers within the industry.
We take pride in building success, providing opportunity, increasing safety, and creating prosperity for our industry, our community, and our students.
We look forward to continuing to connect the right workforce to opportunities within the Alberta and Canadian oil and gas, energy, and power engineering fields.
